Front rose garden

Elvetham Heath

I was asked to improve the front garden of a house as it had become over-run with weeds and wild flowers and the home owners felt it was time to get it done, they also felt it was letting the rest of the street down as the other gardens close by we’re in fine condition.

A south facing front meant it was an excellent area for sun loving flowers and plants. The home owners wanted a simple lawn laid and borders to keep with the rest of the street. The home owner was a fan of roses and being a qualified florist was happy to choose her own roses for the beds, I asked her to try and get 3 of each to fit into the three beds and give the garden a more designed feel and finish.

This was a nice garden to do as the change was well received with many passers-by and despite the normal ground conditions of hard soil, roots and stones the main issue on this was the heat, some of the hottest days this year it was critical that the turf was laid quickly and onto good, damp top soil. Along with the turf and roses it was finished off with two new trellises either side of the front door and sun loving a Jasmine species to grow over the trellis.

Thank you so much to Ben for the fantastic job he did on our front garden. What was once a pitiful wasteland has been transformed into a pretty and welcoming garden. We are incredibly happy with the end result as are our long-suffering neighbours. We would not hesitate to recommend him.
