Faced with an overgrown and unmanageable front garden, my clients wanted to simplify the space, but do so with a thoughtful eye.
The brief included a border around the front, so I opted for heather as part of the design as it is both easy to maintain and in keeping with the surrounding gardens and public heathland.
The planting of bamboo and virburnam in the front added a little form along with texture in the path coming from grey and grey/brown sandstone, creating a two-tone walkway.
Finally, a new hardstanding area at the side made space for extra parking and summer BBQ parties.
