I was asked to transform this garden into a relaxing family environment with an added hot tub since, in its current state, it was a little run-down and not currently enjoyed as much as the homeowners would like.
The garden was stripped down and a different lay-out created, comprising a sandstone path running along the new house extension, sandstone steps and path to a raised hardwood decked area with a power supply and integrated lighting for the hot tub, finishing with a sandstone patio on the opposite side of the garden. At the side of the house was an unused area created by the extension that we screened off with a simple gravel floor to store garden equipment and bins.
A planting plan was put together to allow for the full sun enjoyed by the garden, with sun loving palms and perennials along the steps and shade-tolerant perennials and evergreens added to the main flowerbed which was in constant shade and had become boggy underfoot.
The whole refurbishment was completed with the addition of new close board fencing all round.
