I was asked to design a new front garden. The brief was a low maintenance, but aesthetically pleasing, space with a path to the front and one to the side. After presenting my client with a selection of possible designs, they decided on a basic zen-style garden using bamboo, an Acer and grasses with large decorative rocks and stones.
Although this was a simple design and build, it was a highly satisfactory finish with happy client.
The homeowners also asked me to improve their rear garden that had become tired and muddy. With young children, they wanted to make a family / play area without worrying about either mess or maintenance.
The barked area was removed and a solid base added to allow for a new summerhouse. The old paved areas were replaced by a new extended black limestone patio and path, whilst we removed the turf and added a new artificial lawn to keep mud at bay and maintenance to a minimum – just an occasional hoover required!
