This is a good example of a new lawn being laid. The owners wanted a new lawn so there children could enjoy the garden, I was more than happy to help.
The old lawn had become patchy and damaged, mainly due to the very dry soil underneath. The existing area was cleared of grass, weeds, stones and small shrubs. It was then leveled and the soil turned over and watered before adding a multi-purpose compost rather than a topsoil – much richer in nutrients and holds moisture better to give the new turf a head start.
The new turf was then laid, flattened and watered heavily with very pleasing results.
